Since September 2012, Dr. Klaus Holthoff-Frank has been the General Secretary of the German Monopolies Commission. Klaus Holthoff-Frank studied economics in Berlin and Siegen; after graduation he worked as a research assistant at the University of Siegen. In 1989 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pol. with a dissertation on R&D policy. During his time as Senior Economist in the monopoly commission’s staff he was mainly responsible for regulatory topics. Among others, he was responsible for the field of competition and regulation in the telecommunications sector from 1996 until 2012.
