Alexander Scheuer

born in 1968, has been Head of Media Policy and Media Regulation at Group Public and Regulatory Affairs at Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn since July 2013. After studying Law at Saarland University and Leuven Catholic University in Belgium, he completed a postgraduate course in “European Integration” at Saarland University. Mr. Scheuer joined the Institute of European Media Law (EMR) Saarbrücken/Brussels as a Research Assistant in 1996. From 2000 to June 2013, he was Managing Director and Member of the Executive Board at EMR. Mr. Scheuer is co-editor and author of the commentary “European Media Law”, and between 1999 and 2010, he authored different chapters of a commentary on the EU Treaties. Mr. Scheuer is a member of the editorial committee of “IRIS – Legal Observations of the European Audiovisual Observatory” in Strasbourg. Since 2004, he has been a member and since 2013, Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board for Voluntary Self-Regulation of Television (FSF) in Berlin. Also since 2013, he has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the EMR.
