After having finished his studies in law and criminology as well as his Master of Business Administration in Paris, Claude Schmit started his professional career in 1985 in the marketing department of a big steel company (ARBED currently ArcelorMittal) followed by two years as Research-Assistant Marketing at Keio University in Tokio, Japan.
In 1989 he moved to New York, back to the steel industry where he was in charge of the newly created sales arm for South America. Three years later Claude Schmit received an offer from CLT, a Luxembourg media company and he joined in 1992 the TV development team Eastern Europe. In 1995 he moved over to SUPER RTL, a kids and family entertainment joint venture between RTL Group and The Walt Disney Company as business developer, then Secretary General and since 2000 as CEO.
